Solid Bronze heavy duty anchor Chain from Royal Navy Minesweepers ships.
Some interesting history...as you may or may not know, all fittings onboard a Mine-Sweeper must be non-ferrous or non-magnetic and therefore made of brass, bronze or aluminum. This is to avoid triggering magnetically activated mines. External fittings that need to be strong, as well as, non-magnetic are always bronze, even the chain and anchors.
This particular chain has links that are 4" long x 2 1/4" and about 5/8" thick. This chain is semi polished with a little patina. This 4" link section is the smaller chain used on board the pinnacle of a mine-sweeper. This section of chain would be perfect for decor or hanging custom nautical lights. This chain is double link and is a section of approximately 5 feet long. We have a few more sections of polished and not polished chain. Furthermore, we have some LARGE Bronze chain in our other items. This section is heavy. We have ONLY ONE (1) section of this chain in stock...see our other chain for different lengths. This chain is from the 1950s era!!
