LARGE bronze anchor chain from Royal Navy Minesweepers. Some interesting history...as you may or may not know, all fittings on board a Mine-Sweeper must be non-ferrous or non-magnetic and therefore made of brass, bronze or aluminum. This is to avoid triggering magnetically activated mines. External fittings that need to be strong, as well as, non-magnetic are always bronze, even the chain and anchors.
This particular chain has links that are 6" long x 3 1/2" and about 1" thick. It is the bottom chain in the picture with two different sizes. This chain is has a nice patina state and is in superior condition. This 6" link section is the LARGER chain used on board the mine-sweeper. This section of chain would be perfect for decor or hanging custom nautical lights. This chain is double link and is a section of approximately Five (5) feet long.
We have a few more sections of polished and not polished chain. Furthermore, we have some LARGE Bronze chain in our other items. This section is Super heavy and super rare.
